I’m so excited to welcome you back for a 4th edition of my surf and yoga weekend on a stunning stretch of the Cornish coast.
Join for 3 nights of yoga, surf and relaxation in Mawgan Porth near Newquay, North Cornwall. Explore twice daily somatic yoga practices, a surf coaching session and an afternoon at a relaxing outdoor spa. This weekend is about good company, connection and developing new skills.
Who is this trip for? This retreat is for anyone that seeks a little adventure, without the organising. If you want to experience quiet, long yoga practices with absolutely zero rush, you’re at home. If you’ve always wanted to try surfing but don’t have the vehicle or equipment to plan a trip for yourself, this is for you.
Our yoga practices will always be guided by the breath first. Expect quiet moments to pause and reflect. This style of practice is slow, unrushed and unhurried with options to suit all levels of experience.
On this retreat we’ll be taking a surf coaching session with Rewilding Surf Retreats, where you’ll learn all the basics to be confident in the water. If you’ve never surfed before, we’ll cover everything you need to know to paddle out for the first time. If you’ve surfed before, we can accommodate different levels of experience and host an intermediate level coaching group.
Our surf coaching session will include:
- How to be safe in the water
- Pop-up technique
- Catching a wave
- Surfing in the white water
- Stance, turning technique
Boards, wetsuits and transport to and from the beach will be provided.
And if there’s no waves? Newquay is in a prime surfing location, with a few different spots that work under various conditions. This means there’s usually a wave to be found somewhere. In the chance that the swell just isn’t working, we’ll head out to the coast for sea swims, coasteering or long walks to take in the views.
We will also be spending one afternoon at Wild Wood Spa in Mawgan Porth. An outdoor spa experience with super-sized sauna, a trio of cold plunge baths and steamy outdoor hot tubs. All set amongst the tree tops and a walking distance from our retreat home.
We will be sharing a modern 6 bedroom beach house featuring a large living room-come practice space with a glorious Atlantic view. Expect delicious homemade vegetarian feasts around the table and freshly made treats over the weekend. Speaking from experience, you will definitely not go hungry.
The kitchen is fully stocked with unlimited herbal teas and coffee.

3 nights not enough? Stay on B&B-style for up to 2 more nights. Includes an extra night in your room, one hour morning yoga practice and breakfast buffet for £85 per person per night.
Looking for more surf lessons? Add extra lessons, boards and wetsuit hire for £50 per person.
