On Connection Yoga Retreat
Tuscany - Umbria Border, Italy
Saturday 30th May - Thursday 4th June 2026
"I don't know why sometimes I'm connected and other times I'm not. All I know is it's a collaborative, communal feeling that takes the whole room or none of us". Kae Tempest, On Connection
The practice of yoga is an invitation to come into connection. Through the breath, through the body, through meditation, through movement. And this quiet inner relationship is a collaborative and collective experience too. When it clicks, it’s magic.
While we can’t force this connection to happen, a retreat - immersed in nature, practicing deeply, outside of our everyday to-do-lists - can create the conditions to experience it with more ease.
What better place to explore our own aliveness than in the gorgeous rolling Italian hills.
This is your invitation to spend 5 nights connecting on the Tuscany-Umbria border, enjoying sun soaked days and long lazy nights. No rush, we’ll be taking twice daily slow and lengthy somatic yoga practices and savouring home cooked meals around the communal table.
And when we’re not doing yoga? Simply being. You might spend an afternoon with a good book, take a cooling dip in the pool, stroll the local area or take a well earned nap. This is a retreat with intentional space to just be.
The yoga:
As part of our practice on connection, we will spend the early mornings in silence. This is a beautiful and precious time of the day, where the sun rises and the birds begin their song again. A quiet morning allows us to appreciate this subtlety and land in our practice having spent some time with ourselves. We will then gather for a short collective meditation or breathwork practice.
Our late morning practices will be slow, curious and equal parts playful. There’ll be spaces for partner work, exploration and self discovery.
Our evening classes will be quiet and introspective. We might spend an hour slowly softening into a handful of restorative shapes, or humming to the sound of the harmonium.
As a teacher, I hope to create the conditions for you to discover your own sense of embodiment. I teach based on how a shape feels, rather than how a shape looks. Over the week there will be plenty of opportunities to adapt as you need, to challenge yourself when appropriate and find the deepest rest for your body (and soul too!) If you are new to the yoga practice this is a wonderful place to start and I welcome everyone - whether you’re just starting out or if you’ve been practicing for years.
Our home:
We’ll be staying at Siliano Alto, a spectacular 200 year old Tuscan farmhouse located inside a truly beautiful wilderness estate on the Tuscan Umbrian border. A rural farm, high on a hill with wild deer, boar, porcupine, birdlife, wildflowers, pencil pines and stunning forest and farm scenery all around.
Silence, panoramic views, beautiful sunrises and perfect sunsets. Bliss.
The accommodation features a mix of charming single, double, twin and triple rooms and endless indoor and outdoor space to sit and watch the world go by. This isn’t a glamorous and shiny hotel, it’s a home to rest in.
Siliano Alto has a beautiful yoga studio for our daily practices, with plenty of spots to take our practice outside too. There is also a secluded pool and sun lounging spot.
We’ll enjoy 3 daily vegetarian home cooked meals, made with the best of the season's local produce by the in-house chefs, who will happily cater to all dietary requirements too. Being in Italy, expect delicious pastas, wholesome salads, locally grown veggies, freshly baked bread and the finest olive oil.
